Allen ErheimPsychotherapist

I’ve lived between cultures.

Kuwait, Jordan and Canada shaped how I listen and how I work.

Where I come from

I grew up between Kuwait, Jordan and Canada. Living between languages, expectations and homes taught me early that people carry more than what they say out loud, and that being understood is where change starts.

That is still what I try to offer in every session: a space where you can be yourself, in English or Arabic, without having to explain your culture first.

Education and training

  • BA in Psychology, York University, Toronto
  • MA in Counselling Psychology, Yorkville University
  • Clinical internships at George Brown College and private clinics in Canada and Kuwait

Clinical experience

Eight years at a leading mental health clinic in Kuwait, then private practice, now fully online. More than 15,000 sessions with individuals, couples and families from many backgrounds, over 12+ years.

I have worked with students, parents, executives and professionals, and with people facing anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship difficulties, addictions and chronic pain.

What I believe

People are good at their core. When someone truly understands what is going on underneath, realistic change becomes possible. My own share of hard times taught me that too.

Therapy is evidence-informed and tailored to you. I do not promise a particular result; I promise honest work, at a pace that feels safe.
